The River South Tyne is born in the North Pennines and offers a very different landscape to that of the North Tyne Trail. The route shows the rivers’ many different moods from tinkling trickle to majestic wilderness as it passes through an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB) that includes waterfalls and deep ravines, making its way towards the finish at the ‘Meeting of the Waters’ at Warden.
If you are interested in completing the entire River Tyne Trail from source to sea, this will be available as part of the Tyne Trail Ultra from the North Tyne River. More info HERE
Starting from Garrigill in Cumbria, this fully supported 70km challenge finishes at the ‘Meeting of the Waters’ at Warden in Northumberland.
Tyne Trail Ultra will be donating £5 from each entry fee to benefit the Daft as a Brush Charity that provides cancer patient care.
